Dads/Male Caregivers & Kids Night at the Museum

Calling all dads/male caregivers and kids – we have partnered with Rural Response for Healthy Children to host a night just for you! This program features fun-filled activities, parent discussions, and social time. There will be tours of the Museum and Historic Gaol, artifact and exhibit activities, parent/child social time, healthy snacks, and games. This is a great opportunity to spend time together with your children.

This program is provided free of charge with funding from the Government of Canada.  Please register a week before the program starts. Visit www.rrhc.on.ca to register online.

• Thursday, March 27 (at the Museum): Wonderful Wildlife: The Museum has lots of amazing animals. Come are learn which of these animals are native to Huron County, which ones migrate, which ones were brought here by humans. Please register by March 26.
• Thursday, April 24 (at the Museum): Oral Histories: Discover the power of storytelling! Learn about oral histories and enjoy a fun Q&A game where kids and dads answer questions like, “Who’s the best cook?” or “Who’s the messiest?” Then, become a detective— watch video interviews, follow the clues, and solve the case of the missing artifact! Please register by April 23.
• Thursday, May 22 (at the Museum): Industry Unlocked: Be among the first to explore our brand-new Industry Gallery! Learn about local industries like salt mining and fishing, try a VR headset tour of a salt mine, and get hands-on with activities like wool carding, wood working, rope making, and soap making. Please register by May 21.
• Thursday, June 19 (at the Gaol): Gaol Anniversary: Celebrate the upcoming 50 year anniversary of the Huron Historic Gaol! Hear daring tales of real Gaol escapes, race through a thrilling obstacle course, and enjoy some creative playtime with crafts and games in the Gaol courtyard. Please register by June 18.
